491Jubilation, a seven and one-half minute work for concert band, was commissioned by the City of Poughkeepsie to celebrate its 300th anniversary. The piece incorporates several separatelycomposed fanfares that were played on local radio stations in preparation for the work¹s premiere. That premiere took place along the Hudson River on June 7, 1987 by members of the Hudson Valley Philharmonic, Imre Pallo, conductor.
